You say poor MR2. I say poor us for having to see Toyota make that thing.
(I don’t hate MR2's but they just seem out of place)

OUT OF PLACE HOW?!

The smashed windshield is the real kicker. Seals can be replaced and the body can be tidied up, but water in that interior is probably the end of it all.

It just seems like it was Toyota’s version of the Mazda AZ-1. so small and no trunk but they attempted to make some performance by putting the engine in the back. Imagine if the MR2 had its specs but was Lancer Evolution/Subaru WRX Sti class in mind when it was made.....
Thats just my take on it.

The AZ-1 is a different beast, being a kei car with a tiny engine and a much much smaller body. The first two generations of MR2 had both a trunk and a small frunk, it’s a fairly useful car .
I liken it more to an MX-5 that looks better and is more exciting. Less of a hairdresser’s car if you will. Especially with the ‘charged versions which the MX-5 never really got.
It’s a shame it never got 300hp, but on the other hand, those cars were only built to rally and such a powerful MR2 would likely kill.

You mean kill at the showroom and make a lot of money for Toyota if they had a different concept for the MR2? You are correct! :P

Wut? This is from a time when Toyota were still cool. The 4AGE was a gamechanger and anything that they put it in in the 80s was magic.
